I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather my spark burn out in a brilliant blaze than that it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of a man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

Think of a form of writing and I’ve probably done it. From attention-getting bios to award-winning essays, I’ve been writing articles, public relations pieces and creative marketing copy for over 20 years. As a marketing manager, I discovered that my true love is marketing communications. I am equally at ease planning communications strategies or choosing the right words to bring blogs or marketing materials to life.
My expertise is the result of once being the sole in-house copywriter for a billion-dollar global clothing manufacturer, former editor of a tourism magazine and being on the editorial team at publishing giant Houghton Mifflin Company in Boston.
I have spent a large part of my career in the tourism sector. starting out at the Barbados Tourism Authority and going on to work at Barbados Conference Services Ltd. and the Barbados Museum & Historical Society. Clearly, travel writing is a natural fit for me. I consider experiencing new places and cultures to be one of the best ways to unplug and broaden your horizons.
I am as passionate about traveling (18 countries and counting) as I am about having a well-ordered, balanced life. As a certified wellness coach, I also specialize in health and wellness writing. Check out my blog here. Never one to limit myself, my writing experience extends to a variety of other industries, including hospitality, events and the arts, as well as the non-profit sector.
I hold a Bachelor’s in International Communications from Emerson College, alma mater of several in the TV/film industry, and an MBA in Marketing from the University of East London. I am always happy to share my knowledge with others, as I have done through teaching Marketing Management in UWI’s Cave Hill School of Business’ Executive Management Diploma program.
The time I spent living in Canada, the United States, England and Barbados has given me the ability to write at a world-class level, using either American or British spelling.
I deliver my work on time and mediocrity is not an option. I strive for excellence in everything I do. Don’t take my word for it. Read what some of my clients have to say.
